Abstract

In this article, the author deals with the relationship between catechesis and canon law by giving a historical overview highlighting vital canonical documents starting from the Scriptures to the 1983 Code of Canon Law. The author highlights how catechesis evolved from its birth until the promulgation of the 1983 Code of Canon Law and gives a comparative analysis between the Pio-Benedictine Code of Canon Law of 1917 and the 1983 Code of Canon Law, highlighting similarities and key differences.
